Influence of Parenting Attitudes on Children's School Adaptation: Focusing on Mediating Effect of Parent Attachment

Abstract
This study is to identify the factors influencing school adaptation. The purpose of this study is to investigate whether parental attachment mediates parenting attitudes and school adaptation. For this purpose, data from the fourth year of the Korean Youth Panel Survey(KYPS) with nationwide sampling were used for the analysis. The results are as follows: First, scores, pocket money, and self-esteem were found to be factors influencing school adaptation. Second, parenting attitudes and parent attachment were found to be factors influencing school adaptation. Third, parent attachment was found to mediate between parenting attitude and school adaptation. Based on these results, practical measures for school adaptation were suggested. In particular, it was suggested that intervention to help the family is necessary.
